What started as a counter-action against Black Friday is today just the obvious way for us. We started planting trees for every item sold during Black Friday. But when the Black Friday hype was over for the year, we didn't really understand why we should stop. So we just kept going and today we have several thousand trees in our forest.

How does it happen when we plant trees?
- An item passes checkout in our studio, or via the webshop or via our portal for retailers.
- Then we pay for a tree to be planted in one of our projects together with Ecology.
- For each tree planted, we receive a unique ID as well as all data that may be of interest. We can even see each tree's unique location.
What kind of trees are being planted?
Scientific studies have shown that mangroves "sequester carbon at a rate two to four times greater than mature tropical forests" and contain "the highest carbon density of any terrestrial ecosystem."
Mangroves are also an important part of coastal ecosystems , and "known for a range of ecosystem services, including fisheries and fiber production, sediment regulation and storm/tsunami protection".
The key to mangroves is the large amounts of biomass stored underground in the extensive root system. These roots support the large trees in muddy coastal areas where mangroves thrive.
