In the summer of 2022, the studio in Hyllie started to feel small and just to get a feeling, Martin looked for some premises. The requirement was that they should of course be larger, ideally located closer to home so that it was possible to cycle to work and, if possible, a lower cost per square meter. But you hear what a dream world you can live in.
It started with a showing of a 40 square meter shop, but gut feeling said no. On to an office space of 200 square meters and it didn't tickle the stomach here either. In the same vein, there was quite a lot of news about the electricity prices and it was clear that the conditions in the relevant premises in Hyllie were unbeatable, since the electricity was included in the rent.
There were also some vacant premises in Alnarp, a park, a green business area and perhaps mainly known for the university Campus Alnarp. But there was no response at first.
Spontaneity also has a charm in itself
It was just before Black Friday that the tab with vacant premises made its appearance on Martin's computer. Just for fun, he looked into what was available.
"It was like a sign right then and there. We had closed the studio as a result of Black Friday so I was free. Then there was a local vacancy in Alnarp again and in just one day I got in touch and came to a viewing. Here it was the exact opposite of the previous premises, the gut feeling was ON POINT! Immediately when I entered the premises, I saw a vision."
Since spring is already packed and Christmas wasn't as packed, it was just as well to move right away. So a week later, Martin got the keys to the premises and on 15/12 preparations began in the premises. As early as 26/12, the move was complete and everything has now been moved to the new address.
Production, new opening and welcome party
The goal is to be able to start sending packages as usual just before the new year, for production to be in full swing in mid-January and for the premises to reopen in the spring.
"Of course I want to invite everyone to the new opening when everything is in place. Even though Hyllie was too small and we outgrew that premises, you should know that this is a much larger area. There is a vision of a larger studio with more space to Workshop and an area that will become production and warehouse. But it will take a little time because we try to think slowly in everything we do."
But Martin says that it is already possible to order online and come and pick up your goods at the studio.
"You have to be prepared for moving chaos and that you miss the element of surprise when you see the finished studio, but yes, the door is open!"
